Damaged Chimneys - Stacks, Liners & Flues

Two main reasons for chimney stack damage are:

Chimneys have a tough job, from the outside they get attacked by the British weather and from the inside caustic combustion compounds and soot attack the brickwork. The latter is good enough reason for regular chimney sweeping. Damage to the chimney stack and flue can adversely affect the performance of your solid fuel appliance and the ability to remove harmful combustion products. In the event of a chimney fire we recommend that a camera survey and integrity test is carried out before it is used again.

Chimney Terminals

The terminal, or top of your chimney is a very important part of the flue system. If a terminal is fitted incorrectly it may interfere with the passage of poisonous combustion products. We can advise on the correct material, design and fit of the terminal to ensure maximum safety.
